This year has been incredibly productive, thanks to the inspiring work of our visionary clients. Here’s a look at a few of the Affordable Housing communities we’ve had the pleasure of installing in recent months.

TRES LAGOS (Palm Communities)

For these affordable apartments surrounded by lakes in Wildomar, California, we embraced a modern yet approachable aesthetic that feels upscale without excess.

Prioritizing comfort, functionality, and organic charm, the overall look perfectly reflects and complements the Inland Empire’s semi-arid beauty.

The entry lobby greets residents with a sage green paneled accent wall that introduces texture and a calming, nature-inspired palette. Caramel-hued mid-century modern armchairs, paired with rustic wood coffee and side tables, create welcoming seating areas with clean, tailored lines. Hexagonal floor tiles are subtly accented with scattered triangular inlays for added visual interest, while a striking circular pendant light serves as a contemporary overhead focal point.

Additional shared spaces include the kitchen, community room, offices and conference room, where form and function are seamlessly blended with thoughtful intention. The comfortable furnishings, light and airy wall colors, durable flooring, streamlined cabinetry and complementary backsplashes, effortlessly co-mingle with the geometric patterns and botanical motifs in the artwork and accessories. The result? A fresh interpretation of modern California casual that is both stylish and attainable!

ZEPHYR (Linc Housing)

We brought together clean, modern design and everyday functionality to create a warm, welcoming environment for individuals transitioning out of homelessness at this supportive housing community in Long Beach.

Thanks to funding from California’s Project HomeKey, a former Holiday Inn has been reimagined as 135 permanent homes. Residents will enjoy a wide range of amenities, including a vibrant community room, computer training facilities, private offices for case management, and two outdoor courtyards with BBQ areas and pet-friendly spaces.

As always, JAG Interiors strikes the right balance of style, accessibility, comfort, and function — the foundation of thoughtful affordable housing design. And a meaningful finishing touch comes from the builder’s amazing “Welcome Home” program, which provides essentials like bedding, cookware, toiletries and cleaning supplies upon move-in. Way to go, Linc!

LAKELAND APARTMENTS (The Richman Group)

Smooth delivery…stunning results! Bringing our timeless designs to life is what we do best, and this vibrant new affordable housing community in Santa Fe Springs is no exception.

From the thoughtfully conceived common areas to the 102 family and senior units, everything came together with precision, planning and a whole lot of heart. The developer is thrilled, and we are sure that future residents will be too.

Designed by SVA Architects, Lakeland hosts an almost 4,000 sq. ft. clubhouse at its center, which features a lounge with a demonstration kitchen, a convenient business center, a fully equipped gym and a laundry room — all overlooking the abundant exterior amenities and inter-connected by a surrounding courtyard. The beautifully landscaped outdoor space offers seating and picnic areas, barbecue grills, a playground and a pet park.

Richman and SVA’s constructive collaboration — along with JAG’s extraordinary finishing touches — has truly elevated the resident experience, where people of all ages can feel right at home!

SERENITY (John Stanley, Inc.)

Located on West Manchester Avenue and decades in the making, Serenity is the result of a public-private partnership between John Stanley, Inc., Southside Church of Christ, Innovative Housing Opportunities and the City of Los Angeles. The mixed-use, five-story complex offers 50 studio and one-bedroom residences — including 36 designated for formerly unhoused seniors — above 1,600 square feet of ground-floor commercial space.

An abundance of amenities create a welcoming sense of togetherness, including a club room for gatherings and a beautiful third-level courtyard with a BBQ area and outdoor seating. “Our goal,” says Saki S. Middleton, president of developer John Stanley, Inc., “is to enhance the lives of older Angelenos, while improving the quality of the surrounding neighborhood.”

Serenity — a huge step forward in providing safe and stable living for those who need it most!

HARROWER VILLAGE
(Abode Communities)

Built in 1921, Glendale’s landmark Harrower Laboratory has been reimagined as 39 affordable senior apartments. Designed to support independent aging, the community provides residents with tailored services and a wealth of amenities, including a tranquil courtyard and inviting shared spaces.
The JAG team added the finishing touches to the common areas, which include multiple lobbies, two community rooms, an arts-and-crafts room and a co-working space. The interiors beautifully complement the striking brick exterior and signature Ralph Lauren-blue doors, honoring the building’s scientific past while creating a comfortable, stylish and functional space for modern senior living.

THE ASPIRE APARTMENTS (Innovative Housing Opportunities)

JAG was honored to kick off 2025 with a project that’s very close to our hearts. Designed for youth aging out of foster care, this peaceful, mission-style community in Riverside, California, offers fully furnished apartments, supportive services, and incredible amenities that encourage a true sense of belonging.

JAG created an inviting ambiance in the common areas (both inside and out) that complements the vision of the developer. More than just housing, The Aspire is a launchpad for future leaders to build bright, successful futures — and we congratulate IHO for bringing this inspiring project to life!
